Chapter History

Gamma Kappa was founded on November 15, 1949. Since our founding date, we have had the honor of achieving many amazing awards. This past year in 2019, we received the Most Outstanding Chapter in Virginia award for the second year in a row! We were also recognized by JMU Fraternity and Sorority Life for Most Improved Chapter. In addition we received Gold status for Citizenship and Responsibility by FSL as well as Silver status for Academic Achievement and Member Development. In 2018, we received the Crown Chapter award and the Silver Award at the ZTA Convention. We also received the Crown Chapter award in 2013.
